Pole Fitness is now the latest and fastest growing
exercise choice for women in the World today.

What is Pole Fitness? Pole Fitness consist of a series of anaerobic and aerobic sequences, moves, poses and transitions with warm up and cool down elements on and around a vertical bar (the pole). Pole fitness classes combine the sensual movements of pole dance in a fitness routine to provide a total body workout for all regardless of age, size, or fitness level building core strength and increasing flexibility in a workout designed to empower through health and fitness.

Unlike any previous fitness exercise a pole fitness session uses a large variety of muscles unlike other fitness sessions where you just focus on one group of muscles. After only a couple of sessions you should successfully be able to do several moves and spins on the pole and your strength and endurance will have increased greatly allowing and increase in upper body strength, cardio strength, abdominal strength and with leg work all critical for pole technique it is a great all round fitness routine.

Unlike most aerobic style classes, pole fitness combines a touch of ‘sensuality’ and fun, engaging your mind and body in a way that is truly unique and being aimed at all levels of fitness, body shapes and size to make it suitable for all and with the added bonus of adding confidence and empowering you to makes you feel great about yourself.

The techniques work and challenge the entire body, toning the legs, stomach, bottom, arms and of course the mind too. It works on strength and toning, using a person’s own body weight rather than building muscle on a machine, resulting in lean and shapely curves. Pole fitness is an effective and attractive workout for modern day women who are looking for a fun and entertaining way to get and stay in shape.

Gone are the days of sleazy night club connections, as health clubs and gyms around the world are now accepting this form of fitness and dance for all ladies and now even men! The instruction and moves are adapted to suit everyone. The important thing is that you just have fun!

During the classes you need to be able to complete the warm up session, grip the pole effectively and safely, have freedom of movement and feel good, so you need to ensure you are wearing the correct clothing and follow some very simple guide lines.  No oils or moisturisers must be used on the body prior to all lessons as a health and safety element, as bare legs are essential for safety reasons, if you want to grip on to the pole (you will slip with tights or trousers on). The ideal outfit is a pair of short shorts, skirt or hot-pants (if you are feeling a bit more confident), and something comfortable, but not restrictive, on your top half (a T-shirt is ideal).

We look forward to welcoming you.

So what is pole dancing then? Pole dance incorporates the skill and ability of movements, body position, body lines and interpretation to music, a way of non verbal communication and emotional self expression. The specific skills required are flexibility, strength, creativity, confidence and body awareness. When performed correctly pole dancing can be sensational  and mesmerising to perform and watch too.

Most dancers and performers have their own unique way of performing tricks and routines which is why pole dancing is popular, unlike many other professional genre of dance which have strict techniques. Pole dancing can be as easy or as difficult as a dancer chooses, meaning almost anyone can learn and progress and adapt their style at their own level and ability. This is why no two pole dancing routines will be the same. Dancers have the freedom to perform the most commonly used tricks and then experiment and find their own individual ones ultimately resulting in an ever expanding variety of pole tricks and performances.
