FAQ Pole Passion Fitness Instructor Qualifications

Q1. What is Exercise to Music Level 2 Qualification (ETM) and do I need it to gain my certification qualification with Pole Passion Fitness Level 1 &/or Level 2 Pole Passion Fitness Instructor training courses?

A1.  YES you do if you want to gain your certification and REP’s points and No if you would just like a certificate of attendance and no formal qualification, because although the Pole Passion fitness course recaps on the content of the ETM, the ETM level 2 includes in detail, the fundamentals necessary to deliver safe and effective fitness training.  The ETM contains in detail comprehensive knowledge and understanding of group instruction techniques, anatomy and physiology, cardio respiratory system, first aid and CPR, the right to use PPL and music license, lesson structure & planning techniques, components of fitness to include the principle of training, pre exercise screening, warm up and cool down components and customer service.  Hence the Pole Passion Fitness Instructors courses encompasses the knowledge already gained, where by making Pole Passion Fitness Courses professional and recognised qualifications within the fitness industry.  However if you have not gained the ETM level 2 or higher and are passionate about the pole you can still be part of our elite team of instructors.  Please click here for more information.

Q2.  How do I become a ETM Level 2 qualified Instructor and how much does it cost?

A2. There are many ways of gaining this qualification through established Instructor recourses and Pole Passion is working in conjunction with Lifetime Fitness. The cost of the ETM Level 2 course is approx £600, this includes both of the ETM module and the Exercise and Fitness Knowledge Level 2 module. Students can also complete the ETM module on its own for approx £400 if they already have EFK 2 (Exercise and Fitness Knowledge Level 2) The ETM module is a five day practical module and a two day assessment scheduled 3-4 weeks later. The EFK 3 module is completed via home study, assessment is done at one of their training venues.  Assessment days for EFK 2 run monthly in most of their venues. The Exercise to Music award is fully accredited by REPs and is 20 CPD credits. There are no entry level requirements for this course. The courses are held in Bristol and London. Theory assessment days are held in Bristol, London, Tamworth, High Wycombe, Manchester and Edinburgh.

Q4. What will the Pole Passion Fitness Instruction courses give me?

A4. Attending the Pole Passion Fitness Instructor courses will give you the opportunity to teach safe and effective exercise routines based on and around a pole which will give diversity to your portfolio and variety in your teaching style and skills.  You will be up to date with the latest fitness trend currently popular in womens fitness which recent reports have shown there to be a decline.

You will be part of the international professional body specific to Pole techniques and have the opportunity of teaching a proven, safe and effective course to your students in a fun and dynamic way. By attending the course you will gain; how to apply pole techniques and principles of pole exercise including core stability, correct body posture, assisted breathing techniques, pole transitions, pole poses, pole tricks, pole spins, floor related moves, warm ups, cool downs stretching specific to the pole. Applying variations to increase and decrease exercise intensity. Modify for specific body types, postural issues and conditions. Teach effectively and communicate through visual and verbal techniques specific to pole, support and encourage through client motivation. A recognised and intensive training package.
At Pole Passion we provide flexible training options that fit around today’s busy lifestyles.   Upon successful completion of level one and level two you will earn 16 Continual Professional Development points (CPD) for each course, the highest award currently available for pole fitness instruction, which are a requirement for maintaining your REPS status.

Q5 What is REPs and why do I need it?  

A5. The Register of Exercise Professionals ( REPs) is a system of regulation for all instructors, coaches, trainers and teachers involved in the exercise and fitness industry . Registration is achieved and maintained through the gaining of qualifications and training which are nationally recognised and linked to the National Occupational Standards for exercise and fitness, all Pole Passion Fitness awards are recognised by REPs and upon completion of a full award we will arrange for your registration. In addition all our certifications exceed the level of practical skill required by the awarding bodies. Pole Passion qualified instructors are regarded as amongst the best in the pole industry. 

In a two year period any REPs accredited instructor is required to achieve  16 CPD credits with a minimum requirement of 4 CPD credits in one year  - link to register of exercise professional website www.exerciseregister.org

Q6 How long is the Pole Passion Fitness Instructors courses?
Each course is;

A6. Two full 8 hour intensive training days
Plus an additional half day practical and written assessments which can be taken within a 12 weeks period 
Plus pre course reading of all material, pre reading Code of Pole Practice (CoPP)
Plus two hours homework
Pole Practice for perfection as much as is needed and the amount of time depends on your current level of strength, performance style and fitness levels.

Q7.  What is the code of Pole Practice?

A7. The Code of Pole Practice (CoPP) is exclusive to Pole Passion and the first written standards created for all professionals in the pole industry by reflecting on the core values, instructor’s rights, relationships, responsibility and standards.  The mission statement is to ensure that all pole dance and fitness professionals are exceptionally knowledgeable and informed on up to date health and safety standards for all concerned at all times, unifying the professional standards for all pole enthusiasts.  Click here for the CoPP

Q8 Where are the courses held?

A8  Currently our training venues are The Triangle. The New Madeira Hotel, East Grinstead Sports Club

Q9 How much are the courses?

A9  Each level awarding (16 REP’s each) will cost approximately £299 plus VAT.

Q10 Are there any additional costs involved?

A10 You don not need to spend any more money other than the cost of the course however, we strongly advise that you purchase a pole for additional pole practice or have a pole available to you on a regular basis. (Call our team to discuss your requirements)

Q11 When are the courses being held?

Q12 I am already a proficient pole dancer, can I just take the assessment on day three?

A12. We at Pole Passion welcome all proficient pole dancers, and would love the opportunity to chat to you further to discuss your course requirements.  Call our support team on 0871 318 3838 during office hours.

Q13 Once I have completed my courses where do I go for further training and support?

A13. Upon successful completion of either level one and or level two, you will have continual online support through a dedicated online resources area, with your own membership number which you will awarded upon completion. Any of our regular workshops, training days and lessons will be available at discounted prices. Additional business support and structures are available through our license programme and for those wanting to use the benefits of our trademarks and brand name in one of prestigious areas we have available. 

Q14 What happens if I unable to complete the course?

A14 Our friendly team are always here to help in individual circumstances and support will be given throughout for you to be a successful candidate. However please read our booking terms and conditions.

 Q15 What is the difference between Instructor training courses level one and level two?

A15. On Level one you will be taught the comprehensive knowledge of warm up, cool downs and stretches specific to pole fitness, the core moves and principles including photos specific to pole fitness. Examples of lesson structure plans to keep your courses continually fresh and innovative.

On Level two you will be taught at a higher level and contains more advanced pole fitness technique which can not be taught until Level One is achieved.  The course covers more moves and techniques to include floor routines and moves which will enable choreography for ongoing lesson plans to add variety and progressive instruction in both a group and one to one instruction levels

Q16 What is the difference between Pole Passion Fitness Instruction and pole dancing?

A16 Pole Passion Fitness course content will enable Instructors to develop the skills and knowledge necessary to plan, teach and evaluate safe and effective pole movements and exercise on and around the pole and it’s sessions by providing them with an understanding of:
The importance of health and safety and customer care
The benefits of pole exercise, movements on and around the pole and activity for all
The importance of developing their own style of teaching
Viewing the certification as the start of a learning process rather than the conclusion
The importance of teaching a session with a sense of humour in a fun yet professional manner
Pole Passion Fitness with its progressive program challenges and addresses muscular strength, muscular endurance, muscle tone, body flexibility, mind and body confidence all with health & safety in mind,
Pole Dancing is a specific type of dance moves and fluid sequence of movements to any type of music, whether linked together as a choreographed routine or freestyle movement on and around a vertical pole.  Pole Passion Fitness as an ongoing style of instruction and fitness techniques, specifically to build strength, coordination, flexibility and stamina incorporating the technicality of moves, tricks, spins techniques and styles either as a fun way to keep fit and or if a student wishes to choreograph their instruction into a routine which can be used as a dance routine if chosen to do so.

Q17.  Are there other courses out there?

A17. There are other courses out there so do compare prices and REP’s points accreditation as this is an important factor when deciding which course to sign up for. With each Pole Fitness Instructors certification successfully completed you will gain 16 REP’s points whereby offering you potentially a maximum 32 points which will exceed your maximum requirements in any 2 years on the register.  These courses are the most cost effective way of gaining your points currently on the market.

We are proud to say our course content exceeds the minimum requirements denoted by Skills Active and are intensive and through registering on our training courses offers ongoing instruction, business and employment opportunities.
Our courses will give you the knowledge and tools to teach you how to instruct and deliver continuing Pole Fitness and associated exercise lessons at mixed ability level.

Q18. Are the Pole Passion Fitness Courses safe & credible?

A18  Our courses are the only pole courses approved, certified and accredited by a chartered Physiotherapist, Registered Osteopath and approved via a Qualified Health and Safety Officer.  Each pole move and technique has been examined with the muscular skeletal principals in mind with paramount detail to health and safety to the anatomy & physiology.

Q19.  How do I book the courses?

A19.  Call our friendly team for help and advice on current training dates and venues, whereby a deposit of £100 will be required to book your place on the course and only upon receiving this deposit will your place be held.  We are happy to set up instalment payments for individuals who would prefer ths method of payment to spread the cost, however all payments must be made in full before attending the courses.

There are limited spaces on each course allowing only two Instructors per pole during all training.  This ration will change during the assessments however.  We have the facilities of up to 14 training instructors attending at any one training session.

Upon receipt of all final payment

Final payment must be received and cleared, no less than 7 days prior to your first day of training.

1. All course material will be posted out including your unique membership and identification number. You will need this number with you on the course and will reference this number at all times.  This number will also allow you to access the membership area on the website.  Keep it safe and private.
